I don’t have a cardsmall.png because it’s only for the replayer. It looks fine in the replayer window so I kept it like that. TBH the one I had was kinda bogus so I never used it.

Open challenge to FoxwoodsFiend.
September 15th, 2008 by danzasmack in PokerAn Open Challenge to FoxwoodsFiend
Hey FoxwoodsFiend,
I noticed that you felt like posting in comments to talk trash and continue to assert that I’m an awful poker player. Given that you think I’m awful and I think you’re awful, I would like to challenge you to a match. 4 tables of $10 NL HUSNGs or $20 HURAZZ sngs, whichever you prefer. If your trashtalking is anything other than pure delusional venting, you should be jumping at the chance to play me.
So, basically you have two choices: play me or admit that you’re a pathetic joke of a poker player who runs off at the mouth and never backs it up. Looking forward to hearing from you in comments.
I’ve never even HAD pineapple juice!
July 25th, 2008 by danzasmack in PokerFirst thing’s first - give credit where credit is due.
Hoyt Corkins is a pretty old school dude. Has a reputation to be a big spew monkey, wears a cowboy hat, and sucks on a cigar the whole tourny - very clean cut dude.
TJ (or TeeJay) i a short dude with a loud laugh who likes to party. He played the $10k LHE even in a very bright pink sweatshirt.
He was the reason Hoyt was steaming. Hoyt c/r’d him in a KQTcc board, TJ called. The board runs double paired and Hoyt bets, TJ raises, Hoyt hums and hahs and folds what I’m pretty sure what 8c3c, TJ rolls over 55 and Hoyt kept telling me how he “can’t call!” Thereafter Hoyt went on to spew vs. me and get there once, twice, three times a lady. I don’t know why I’m reliving this.
Had my biggest day of ‘08 yesterday (ship ship).
Oh something I also really wanted to get out there - DeathDonkey cheats at gin. He is a gin cheater.
Wors JW post ever but I’m tired I’ll be back later.
There’s snakes out there this big!?
July 24th, 2008 by danzasmack in PokerIce something said that in Anaconda. A fantastic tale of large snakes out in the middle of nowhere. I guess they were hunting for treasure or something, which in the end was protected by cgi snakes. Never seen one of those in real life.
Anyway, now that I am in the town of internet I’ll be blogging a lot more regularly. To catch you up on the past weeks since my last post:
- The 10k LHE was brutal. I came into day 2 with a bunch of chips, well not really. Then I won a bunch of chips. They Hoyt “I am steaming because people are showing me bluff” Corkins took all my chips in 5 hands. IMO I played all of the hands perfectly.
- Um, $50k HORSE I was chip leader @ one point on day 1. Day 2 I wasn’t happy with some of my play in a few LHE pots but that didn’t really matter. I couldn’t win any stud hands of any sort. I actually ran pretty well and played good in O8. I reviewed every reasonably tough decision in my stud hands and it ends up I made a mistake or 2 but the best part is if I did make my loose peels in some spots I still would have bricked (results oriented FTW). Come to think of it is was just one hand.
- The Main Event sucked. I didn’t win any hands. Played good imo.
Now I’m out of Vegas. That’s about that.
And don’t worry, I won’t blog about poker.

Don’t mess with the best.

About time you write something down.
March 26th, 2008 by danzasmack in PokerThings have been nuts lately. DeucesCracked has been burning up coal faster than we can shovel it lately, which is sick nasty awesome and things look great on the horizon. Unfortunately that means some things have to be neglected and that’s my 2nd wife, poker, and my blog.
Of course I’m not married and never was married. But I am crazy.
So I went to go play poker in that beautiful city on the water, Atlantic City.
The Atlantic Ocean is stupid. Simple as that. They should just move it somewhere else imo. I don’t really see what it’s doing there, between me and Europe. Get your act together Atlantic Ocean.
Of course, this is where Atlantic City resides - in America’s armpit, New Jersey.
My Dad and I got up early (like legit 6am) and headed down to the Borgata to play in a donkament. It was $300+$40 I believe. You start with $10k chips and the people were awful.
I often get stupid looks when I say I play donkaments, like “uh, don’t you play minbet?” Well of course I play minbet. I also regularly sleep in just my underwear. Does that mean some night I’ll sleep in sweatpants and play a donkament? Yeah of course. I may not be the best no limit hold’em player in the world but donkaments and NL Cash have about as much in common as Nic Cage circa Raising Arizona and Nic Cage circa “Wicker Man” (both are hilllarious, though wicker man is hillarious bad).
So I sat. I got all in early. With blinds @ 50/100 the CO limps, the button limps, and I look down at one red queen and one black queen. The racial dichotomy was hardly enough to keep me from raising and I made an “idiot internet” looking raise out of the BB to $700, BOSE headphones, messed up hair, and sweat shirt and all. If I wasn’t an internet hotshot then Nic Cage wasn’t awesome in Raising Arizona. (He was).
An Asian guy in a suit who played pretty ok looked at his hand and called quickly. A guy who was actually breathing through his mouth called behind him and mackerel I made a big pot.
The flop was 789 with a heart flush and I checked my queen to make sure it was a diamond. It was. The pot was 2100 and I had the best hand (I thought), so I made a c-bet of 1600.
Asian man goes into the tank. He shuffles back and forth. Looks at his hand. But patiently. This was no Hollywood imo. He wasn’t trying to sell me anything, he look genuinely uncomfortable and suddenly decided it was in his best interest to call. He looks to his left, back at me, and finally raised to 4000.
The other guy folds and now I’m in a tought spot. Jack Ten is, I think, a big part of a players limp/call range. 89, 9T, 78, 67, 56…I’m thinking.
Then I’m thinking some more. How is this a straight? This guy was not laggro nuts, he was postlfop trickster. He just calls JT here. He does raise pocket 3’s though after thinking I clearly have AK. So i said it.
“I go all in” - Alex Jacob
I only sweat the 1st 3 seconds because I knew he would snap call anything that dominates me. After continually asking me if I had a flush draw he mucked his hand as did I and I wons the pot.
I won a few small pots thereafter, busted one guy when I re-raised him with AA and he called A9o, flopped a nine and headed to the rail.
I felt i severely misplayed one pot where a loose guy opened and I cc’d AKo. I did so with the intention of stacking him on any board containing and Ace or a King but you know what? I could have done that if I 3-bet pf too. Getting tricky there was stupid imo.
At the break I spoke with the guy I didn’t 3-bet vs. pf who hit a 2 outer on the river (after making a large turn raise) to send a frustrated player to the rail. He basically didn’t understand poker, didn’t recall the details of the hand correctly, and thus was both full of himself, full of shit, and somehow full of chips.
After the break I cold called his raise with 56s. He was overbet c-betting regularly, we were both very deep, and I thought I had a nice chance at his stack. The flop came all bricks and I just more than min-raised his pot sized c-bet, honestly thinking he would fold overs. He called quickly and open shoved a blank turn. Sucks when you’re up against aces and don’t make 2pair+.
After that I went slightly card dead, nothing crazy. Finally with the blinds @ 200/400 and me just over 12k in chips, I wake up to two red queens. The antes were significantly high @ this point so I opened to 1500 UTG and got cold called by the only person @ the table younger than me. The pot, with antes, was now just under 4k and the flop was a safe but lonely 972. I wanted my money in and I wanted it in good. I wanted to look like I was bluffing/was scared. So i paused, and bet out 1800. Such a noob bet. He made it 5k committing himself to the pot and I slid my chips forward.
Then I saw he had pocket kings.
So i jumped into a “10/20 2-way” game - O8 and Stud8.
I’m not that great of a stud8 player, but guess what? Nobody there was either. I actually won most of my $ @ stud8. People bring in with crap, can’t fold a hi if it looks like I have a low, can’t fold a low if it looks like I have a hi.
The one hand that bugged me was AA53ds getting scooped in a huge pot on a 24JTQ board, where I had the flushdraws too, by jack dooooose. Sigh.
I’m looking forward to playing more live mixed games though. At least I get to think. Live limit hold’em is like eating dry turkey with flat soda.
Boom.
Poker going well.
March 7th, 2008 by danzasmack in PokerSo, as most refuse to do, I followed my own advice after running like absolute shit for a long enough time.
I took one day off from playing despite the fact that I really wanted to play. Then the next time I wanted to play (which of course was 24 hours later haha) I didn’t play. There I was “man you are a-game ready right now!” Nope, didn’t play.
The next time I wanted to play and had time, I did, and I pwnd.
That’s the best advice I can give to someone downswinging.
I’m also 2-0 in HULA thus far. I was pretty nervous for my 1st match because it was the rubber match and vs. a “sleeper pick” - cocofrite. I put sleeper pick in quotes because apparently everybody but me knew who he was lol.
Anyway, Coco was good, so I knew I wanted to outspew him early and hopefully get there. He made some bug folds early that were spot on (I had the best hand, I think). One hand I had no idea what he had.
Then of course I jump into my shell and made some call downs where I should have/could have 3- bet but I think it really worked to my advantage as it got him to play a little more aggro when I played more aggro (had shown a bluff or two). Then I think I picked up KK or something and won.
My 2nd match was vs. another guy I never heard of (sorry!) but he was drafted before me so pride was on the line! He was super concerned about taking the play out of the game given that we were playing .5/1 but we started with 70bbs instead of 50. Of course, I ended up about 32bb’s on the session when I won but I don’t think it made super big difference. I was up about 17bbs @ one point, and I really thought I was playing some of the best poker of my life TBH. I bluffed with confidence more than ever and felt I had a strong grip on things.
Then I didn’t miss. Seriously. 4 beats in a row is impossible to recover from when you’re already down.
All in all my opponents played really well and there wasn’t much my opponents could do. My team needs 1 more win to make it to 2-0. Let’s go team!
Taking the rest of the day off.
